Bass Drums BD-920YJ 20 "x 14" AllBirch Shell Birch shells produce a lower fundamental tone than maple.Their crisp sound quality with short attack decay makes them optimalfor recording situations. Our Air Seal System shells feature selectbirch wood cut in plies, positioned with staggered diagonal seams, andsealed together with evenly distributed air pressure. This processensures that every drum shell is in round and of uniform thicknesswhile providing superior tone quality and durability. Hi-Tension LugsPrecision-machined lug nuts provide noise-free control, due to theirspringless casing design. Manufactured as genuine one-piece units, ourhigh-tension lugs have established one of the principal trends incontemporary design. Bass Drum Spurs A strong hexagonal design andfixed angle position allow our spurs to withstand bass drum kicks.Height adjustment and the releasing and retracting of the pointed spurare made easily with a drum key. Mounted Toms and Floor Toms Equippedwith YESS Mounts Long found on our high-end drum kits our original YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounting system is on all Maple Customtoms and floor toms. This rod clamp system allows attachment of thedrum to the tom holder without the need of a hole in the drum shell forthe rod to pass through. The YESS clamp is attached to the shell at thenodal point with 2 bolts so as to allow the shell to vibrate freelywithout degrading the shell's dynamic range and sustain. The nodalpoint is the location on a shell with the least amount of vibrationallowing for the mount to have little affect to the resonance of theshell. Ball Clamp and Triple Tom Holder This round ball clamp has longbeen a fundamental part of Yamaha System Drums. Made of super-hardresin, the ball is held firmly in place with a steel plate and largewing bolt. While providing ease of operation, this system also deliverstotal freedom in setting and superior stability.
